Causes and Solutions Dry Eye

Actually, many factors that cause dry eye, among them the age and environmental factors. Although many found people who are suffering, dry eye can be handled easily with enough home care.
Tears are needed to moisten the eye that serves to keep our vision remains sharp. There are three normal tear film, which is a layer of lipids, water and mucin layer. All three functions make the eye moist by wetting the entire surface of the cornea and prevent evaporation.
If one of these three elements is not functioning normally, the tear film becomes unstable. Layer unstable tear more easily evaporate, causing dry eyes.
The symptoms of the common eye complaints by patients with dry eye are:
- Feel dry, itchy, hot, red, painful and watery.
- More sensitive to light, smoke, sun, and wind.
- Easily tired when reading, watching TV and computer screens.
- Blurred vision.
- Feels sticky and slimy remove dirt. In some cases, patients feel smth or possessed by a foreign object.
Here are the steps that can be taken:
- Using eye drops that contain no preservatives. This helps reduce the complaints experienced by patients with dry eyes.
- Wearing sunglasses with UV-filter when you go outdoors to protect the eyes from wind and the effects of ultraviolet rays in sunlight.
- Set home humidity between 60% - 80%
- Compress the eye with warm water
- Do not resist flashing. Close your eyes for 10 seconds every 10 minutes will give comfort to the eye.
